Meet Carol Alexander-Lewis
Carol Alexander-Lewis is the publisher of Modern Parents Magazine and an education leader with more than 25 years of experience across early childhood, K–12 schools, higher education, and community programs. Carol Alexander-Lewis has published Modern Parents Magazine since 2005, bringing the academic world and the parenting world into a shared conversation about learning.
As Director of the Grambling State University Child Development Center and CCAMPIS Administrator, she supports a university-based early childhood program and student families. Her work includes staff development, teacher coaching, program leadership, and collaboration with campus offices to support student parents. She previously directed Delgado Community College’s Joey Georgusis Center for Children and taught early childhood education courses at Delgado, with additional teaching experience at Dillard University.
Her experience also includes Louisiana Department of Education District Assistance Team leadership, school improvement planning, federal and state program administration, and leadership of the National Family Development Institute. Through MPM, she brings these experiences to family engagement, educator development, director mentoring, curriculum review, and practical partnerships between home and school.
